Dry Land | Hope

In the middle of the wilderness.

What do you do when you feel burnt out? Where do you go? Whom do you turn to? Why does it happen? When are you able to recognize that you are burnt out? And how do you know you are burnt out?

For me personally, I know I’m burnt out when I feel like I have no purpose, when I feel overwhelmed, and when I want to procrastinate in order to alleviate my anxiety.

I recently realized that I get burnt out when I lose sight of why I’m doing what I am, when I’m not spending enough time with family and friends, and when I try to take matters into my own hands. Sometimes, I realized that I unknowingly place myself in the wilderness. And oftentimes, I forget about what is really important in life.

When I am in the middle of the wilderness, I ask, “how did I get here?” When I really think about it, I get lost and begin to wander when the small, important things fall from my grasp. Work is important and so is money and security, but my family and friends will be the most important to me.
