Into the woods we go.

I’m a mountain guy. I love the lush, green forests, the tall, sturdy tree trunks that have weathered the test of time, the cool air breezing between the grass, and the dark, dancing shadows that are cast overhead by the sky-high canopy of leaves.

I was able to take a weekend trip to Yosemite last year and I was awestruck by the beauty of the natural forests. The world can be so noisy, can’t it? Honking horns, people shouting, bosses and managers demanding deadlines, loved ones who intentionally or unintentionally discourage you, and that small but not so quiet voice in your head that tells you you will never be good enough.

The silence of the forests did much for me. In such a fast paced world, I felt a literal and symbolic breath of fresh air because of the forests. I may not be able to come to the forest often, but it is important for us to have a place of wonder and mystery, where we can relax and just breathe. I hope you can find and prioritize that moment for yourself as well.

Albert.
